Liverpool led with an unanswered goal before Manchester City came back and equalized in the first half before quickly taking the lead in the 46th minute with a Kevin De Bruyne strike followed by a third and a fourth.

Henderson believes the moment Manchester City scored their second goal was crucial to the game.

Henderson said in a comment on the club's official website: "I think it was an important moment in the game and we didn't react well after the second goal."

"We didn't defend well in goal, we missed the game because we couldn't get close to Manchester City in the end. We're disappointed with what happened in the second half, game over."

"It's very difficult, that's what they're there for, they go forward, keep the ball away and wait for the right moments, it's really difficult to push and they tried to win the ball back, they got the game from the second goal controlled "We have to try to go forward, there were some good moments in the first half, if we had been determined we could have taken a 2-0 lead."

"We weren't strong enough both at home and away, so overall it's a really disappointing day, but the games are intense, fast paced and you shouldn't be too disappointed," he said. "We have to try to react correctly, try to use the positive aspects and try to do better the things that we haven't done well and are still doing." Liverpool meet Chelsea next Tuesday in a postponed eighth match day of the Premier League.
